1.1. “The Artistic Mask: Exploring Identity and Positivity Through the Symbolism of the Peacock Feather”
My project, The Artistic Mask, is a personal exploration of identity and positivity, inspired by the symbolic significance of the peacock feather. Drawing from Indian mythology, particularly its association with Shri Krishna, the feather holds deep cultural and personal meaning. I used it as the central element in designing a mask that represents facets of my personality, with the feather symbolizing a lens of optimism and purity. By incorporating the feather as the eyes of the character, the mask becomes a metaphor for viewing the world with positivity. This project allowed me to connect with my cultural roots while expressing my values and outlook through an artistic medium.
1.2. “post-Ready-Made Untitled 01”
In my project “Ready-Made Untitled 01,” I transformed an ordinary Indian oil container into a sculptural elephant form, reflecting the cultural habit of repurposing everyday objects. This hands-on approach highlights the resourcefulness ingrained in Indian households, particularly the practice of saving and reusing containers. The project became a creative exploration of adaptability and cultural identity, turning a mundane object into an artistic representation of ingenuity and originality.
2. SUNSOL
My major project, Sunsol: The Future of Sun Safety, was proudly featured in the University of Huddersfield's exhibition, held at the Barbara Hepworth Building from 11 to 18 November 2024. The exhibition, which showcased innovative projects by MA Graphic Design students, was open Monday through Friday and celebrated creative work that pushes the boundaries of design.
The opening night on 11 November at 6 pm provided a platform to present Sunsol, a visionary skincare brand combining sustainability, innovation, and engaging design to promote sun safety. This milestone offered a valuable opportunity to share my research, designs, and creative journey with an audience of peers and professors.
